Fruit 'n' Nut Gulab Jamun - Dry

Here I come with a chweety chweety post of a dessert which was in my mind for a very loooong time. Of late I am craving for sweets especially the home made ones. I had condensed milk, loads of dy fruits and nuts and instant MTR Gulab Jamun pack in my refrigerator which was pricking my eyes when ever I opened it.So Saturday afternoon was a fine time to experiment my recipe. Here is my version of Stuffed Gulab Jamun.

Ingredients:
Dry fruit n nuts - 1/2 cup
Condensed milk - 3 tsp
Elachi - 2
Ghee - 2 tsp
MTR Gulab Jamun mix - 100 gms
Cooking oil - as required
Sugar - as required
Water - as required

Directions for  delicious  stuffed Jamuns :

Mix the instant Gulab jamun mix into a soft dough and let it rest of ten mins (we are not at rest mean while). Heat a small wok. Add ghee and finely chopped dry fruits and nuts and elaichi (Gosh!! chopping is tiresome on a weekend so use brains !! use Mixer !! lol lol). Fry them in sim flame, after which  add condensed milk . When the consistency is thick and pasty, remove from flame and let it cool for some time.

Make balls of required size. It's time to work with the Jamun mix. Now carefully coat the  the balls with  the dough and cover it all around the stuffing and make sure that there are no splits and cuts while doing this. Heat oil in the wok. Deep fry 3 balls at a time and place it on a tissue to absorb the extra oil.(Rest will be absorbed by our thick layer above the 6 pack!! lol!!). Make sugar syrup and pour it on the hot Jamuns placed in the bowl and let it set for 20 mins. Dry Fruit n nut Jamuns are ready.

Stuffing can be done with any innovative combinations I have used raisins, figs, almonds and  pistachio.
You can use choco chips, dry pear, apple, khoya, etc.
Hope it was simple and toothsome.

Have a Lovely Jamun Day !!
